Traditional Iranian Martial Arts (Varzesh-e Pahlavani)

As was mentioned in the introduction section, the origin of Varzesh-e
Pahlavani comes from Iran's Parthian Empire (238 BC - 224 AD). All of
the Pahlavani apparatus that are used for physical training have their
roots in ancient warfare instruments which can be traced back to
pre-Islamic era of the Iranian history.

Pahlavani Apparatus
The Pahlavani tools include:
- Meel: A pair of wooden Clubs
that evolved from ancient mace
- Kabadeh: The Bow
- Sang: The Shield
- Takhteh Shena: The Bar
