Pahlavan Ahmad Vafadar representing Khorasan School of Pahlavani
This school is probably the oldest school of pahlavani in Iran. Major
sites of this school are cities of Toos, Mashad, Sabzevar, Ghouchan,
Bojnourd, Shiravan and Neyshabour.
Koshti Choukheh is the local brand of wrestling in Khorasan and still practiced in its cities.
Famous Pahlavans of this school are Pahlavan-e Bozorg Mahmood Kharazmi also known as Pouriyay-e Vali, Pahlavan Mohammad Abou Saied (son of fifteenth-century poet and great sufi Abou Saied Abul-kheyr), Pahlavan Darvish Mohammad Khorasani, Pahlavan Beyk Khorasani, Pahlavan Akbar Khorasani, Pahlavan Haj Seyyed Ahmad Moharer, Pahlavan Ahmad Vafadar, Pahlavan Haj Gholamreza Golkar, Pahlavan Ahmad Taheri, Pahlavan Abul-Ghasem Sakhdari, Pahlavan Nayeb Faramarz, Pahlavan Haj Aliasghar Ghouchani, Pahlavan Moslem Eskandar Filabi, Pahlavan Mohammadali Sahrai, and Pahlavan Yaghoubali Shourvarzi.
